AR Banks is a guitarist and audio engineer based in the Pittsburgh, PA and Martinsburg, WV areas. He is graduating from Duquesne University in May of 2016 with a degree in Music Technology, and a focus in Sound Recording and Jazz Guitar. He currently works for Welsh Sound in Shepherdstown, WV, is a contractor for several companies in and around Pittsburgh, PA, and is a house engineer at Cattivo in Lawrenceville, PA.
AR has been playing guitar for several years in local bands around his hometown. His last project was The Annexation of Puerto Rico, which enjoyed a modicum of success, winning the 2014 Duquesne University Battle of the Bands. He also performs music in the jazz and classical realms, which was showcased by his senior recital, for which he composed and/or arranged all of the music except one piece.
AR also owns his own equipment for both recording and live applications. All of the tracks contained in his demo reel (link below) were done with mostly only gear he owns; all mixes were done on his system. He also has his own live sound rig, which is available for contracting.
